This procedure assumes that a disk has failed completely (and will not show up in
ioscan), and describes the procedure for replacing it.
The details of the environment are as follows:
* VG: vg02 * Primary: c0t0d0 (Failed) * Secondary: c3t2d0
Replacing the Failed Disk
Activate volume group, ignoring quorum.
# vgchange -q n -a y /dev/vg02
Replace the physical disk. Once this has been done, reboot.
Interrupt the boot process and enter single-user mode.
ISL> hpux -is (;0)/stand/vmunix (also, add "-lq" to boot wihtout root disk quorum)
From the shell, perform the following steps:
# pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/c3t2d0 # vgcfgrestore -n /dev/vg02 /dev/rdsk/c3t2d0 # vgchange -a y /dev/vg02 # vgsync /dev/vg02 # shutdown -r 0
